Silver Bullet from Southern New Jersey

I purchased these two seasons ago and so far so good. I loved them so much I bought the shoe version too. I have backpacked in WV, hiked in Rocksylvania, summitted 14ers in Colorado, and most recently did 6 of the 46ers of the Adirondacks in them. They have shown no signs of wear and have taken a beating. I have submerged them in creeks and stayed dry. The heel and ankle fit nicely with a roomy toe area.

When you put these on in the store you will love them! They feel like they were made for your feet. Traction is respectable, support good considering what they are: a light weight hiker. Problem is: they are not at all waterproof, at least mine weren't. I would recommend for everyday use and dry trail hiking, but not for wet, rainy conditions. Too bad, if you find anything more comfortable it's probably a sneaker!

RadRik from Portland, OR

I bought this brand on a recommendation from a friend with the sole purpose of hiking. The first week I wore these for over 20 miles of hiking in Yosemite National Park. They are very comfortable, and I found them to be more lightweight than some of the other offerings in this category. The single most influential reason for choosing this boot was the room on the toe-box. I have wide feet and I can't stand having my toes crunched while wearing hiking or cold-weather socks. I found them to be waterproof in snow and water that doesn't come higher than the gussets on the tongue (of course). While wearing two layers of socks I was comfortable and dry for the entire day, even with the snow and water exposure. :) I would definitely recommend these to anyone!

Back-Blast from Snoqualmie Pass, WA

I purchased these boots, as did my girlfriend, and hiked an 80+ mile detour route from Stevens Pass-Snoqualmie Pass, WA. We broke them in prior to our hike, simply by some day hikes. They leaked by my third or so day hike! I then used them for a 7-day survival school, where I walked many many miles on uneven ground. Prior to this, I had some stitching repaired. During the school, other seams came apart. Once the soles wore down some, they became VERY slippery on wet wood and muddy areas. *They are very comfortable and they have a wide a toe box, so I still might consider purchasing another pair- BUT, for the price and how little time they break down, I might reconsider.* If the stitching was better, and more waterproof, I would buy these all the time! For a one-year use of about 150 miles, these are great boots.
