Customer Opinions

I was actually looking at a more expensive pair, but the store was out of it. Great associate helping 10 people at the same time took the time to describe this shoe and I'm glad he did. Took them out for a test drive that day, and they help up well. Great support, great traction, and good looking to boot.

I bought these boots one day before a hiking trip and they were great. I have wide feet and they fit perfectly. They were the most comfortable boot I tried on. It felt like they were already broken in because the material is so flexible. The inside is very soft and comfortable too. They are easy to take on and off with its simple lacing. I never feel as though I had boots on, they feel more like sneakers. I highly recommend.

Boots have over 400 miles of hiking and the sole is almost flat. I have had them for about 15 months and I have warn them summer, winter, and rainy days. I need a shoe that will be fully water proof as I am often out in the rain; while wearing these shoes my feet have never gotten wet. In snow 6 inches or less they were amazing and still kept my feet warm; they breathed and were very comfortable at low temperatures. On pavement and concrete these boots provide very nice and much needed padding. I highly recommend these boots for anyone who wants a comfortable boot that will last.

This is my second pair. They replaced the first pair after one of the cloth shoe sting eyelets failed after less than 6 months of light use. Tread on the second pair came unglued after less than 4 months of light use. Not good. I also found these boots to be extremely hot. The KeenDry waterproof fabric does not breath. Although their customer service was excellent, I would never buy another Keen boot after my negative experience with the Targhee IIs. If you do buy them, buy them REI. At least you can return them.

I received these and right out of the box I took them on a 1.5 2,500 ft ascent up one of the local mountains, with no problems. I had one small hot spot during the descent, but hey...that's what I get for not breaking them in first. I did end up replacing the insole with an orange superfeet footbed, which I do with all my shoes. I've heard some comments about the lack of durability. Although I haven't experienced that yet, time will tell. I had previously had a pair of the Targhee II Cross-Training Shoes, which had a tendency to slip in the heal. The higher ankle support seemed to solve that problem.
